It was a pleasant surprise to see the great turnout at ProMat 2015, the mammoth McCormick Place convention center was packed with people from all over North America, looking for ways to improve material handling and logistics processes. This year it seems like they had a different mindset, they were focused on investing in solutions that created a return, rather than finding the least expensive way to patch up a problem. According to Modern Materials Handling “Not only was this the most “upbeat” ProMat they’ve been to, but the most productive event they could ever remember in terms of small- to mid-market attendees coming to the table with smart projects being funded by real money”.
Visitors to the Caster Concepts booth were asking about achieving greater efficiency, increasing productivity and driving growth, rather than what’s the least expensive way to maintain. They were focused on returns from these smart projects. Returns achievable with many of the products we displayed at ProMat.
We launched our complete line of Ergonomic Products that reduce the risk of injury and reduce energy exerted, resulting in greater efficiency and ultimately, increased productivity. Whether it’s battery power or man power, a reduction in energy exertion means less power used, resulting in longer battery life, or more energy and less strain on a human, enabling consistent performance through an entire work day.
We also displayed an All-in-One powered caster, the Drive Caster®. Thanks to the integrated motor, the only energy exerted by a user of the drive caster, is the energy needed to flip the switch and engage the motor.
Modern Suspension, our line of Aluminum Shock Absorbing Casters weigh about 1/3 of an equivalent steel caster, with all of the durability and strength. To help increase efficiency, we’ve created the Caster Configurator, a one of a kind web based design tool that allows users to design a caster and creates a downloadable CAD Model. Our Configurator allows you to specify every part of the caster by choosing from key parameters including weight capacity, wheel diameter, bearing type and others, ensuring that you get the exact caster to fit your needs.
