With a surprise early spring Chicago snowstorm behind us, Day 2 at ProMat 2015 has brought sunnier days, and more robust crowds.
Many of the eventual 35,000 to attend this year’s conference for the materials handling industry arrived on Tuesday, eager to find innovations that improve ergonomics, prevent injuries, and ease manufacturing costs.
Caster Concepts – one of a handful of industrial caster vendors to exhibit at ProMat – has earned particular acclaim and interest from show-goers and media alike for its unique array of Made-in-America heavy-duty casters, rigs and tread innovations that significantly reduce workplace injuries caused by overexertion and excessive noise.
Those stopping by the booth (No. 5244) – a cross-section of executives and purchasing agents from domestic and international manufacturing interests — were particularly appreciative of Caster Concepts’ leadership role as a solutions provider – going “Beyond Standard” by building, upon request, heavy duty casters that address all sorts of challenges.
Show-goers spun, pushed and examined unique products like CasterShoX®, with an integrated shock-absorbing technology that can muffle up to 70 percent of cart noise while dissipating impact forces; and TWERGO®, a multi-wheel-in-one industrial caster wheel, with a patented face design that reduces by up to 25 percent the energy exerted to start, turn and continue rolling. Other products on display include:
• ERGOXCEL™, a rig designed to reduce shoulder and back injuries while reducing the amount of push-force required to turn or start rolling when all the wheels are not parallel;
• TWERGO® Lite, a two-inch wide caster that achieves an average of 25 percent reduction in initial push force on loads totaling 2600 pounds or less, and;
• ErgoTread, a uniquely designed polyurethane tread that returns energy, resulting in less force exerted to begin and continue rolling.
A media event at the booth brought interest from an international array of press, including MHI, the publication that is sponsoring ProMat; and CasterNews, a brand new publication with a singular focus on our industry and its innovations.
ProMat 2015 continues through Thursday, March 26; the Expo at Chicago’s McCormick Place will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 26.
