Overview

The kingpinless style caster has become a highly accepted industrial caster while evolving into a valuable investment for rugged applications to minimize downtime and maintenance costs. It is valued for its simplicity and for providing a tough caster for abusive industrial applications where shock loading is prevalent. The heat-treated inner and outer rings are held in alignment with 3/8-inch high-quality hardened ball bearings. The construction of the swivel section puts the ball bearing in a sheer load that provides great strength while providing smooth operation when swiveling in a loaded state. The ease of swiveling means that the kingpinless style of caster is a highly desired option when a manual ergonomic operation needs to be optimized. The hardened alloy swivel sections and formed and welded legs provide strength and durability in difficult industrial applications in this Series 51 caster.

Application

Excellent for light powered applications, bakery dough troughs, portable work benches, industrial tool boxes, platform trucks, tow lines, utility carts, tooling fixtures, scrap metal carriers, drywall dollies, gantry cranes, automated guided vehicles, fiberglass lay-up molds, and other applications.

Options

Caster Concepts has a wide variety of caster options. Many of these not only improve function – but also provide safety and add longevity to the product. When considering safety options, the most common consideration would be caster locks, caster brakes, toe guards, and reinforced legs. Options that extend the life of a caster are primarily options that seal the bearing of the caster to prevent contamination of the precision parts.

Other options include threaded zerks for when an application is difficult and high level of maintenance is required and track brush wipers that keep debris from stopping movement or damaging a wheel. These options can be added at the time of manufacturing or after the caster is fully assembled.
