This 12-inch by 3-inch 81 series kingpinless caster, is renowned for it’s unique single ball race design that ensures a high-strength swivel section. These casters are valued for their simplicity and ability to withstand challenging industrial applications with prevalent shock loading. The top plate and yoke base are securely aligned using 3/4 inch high-quality hardened ball bearings, enabling smooth and reliable swiveling. The longevity of these casters is enhanced by their effortless swiveling, result in years of low-cost operation. Manufactured through a drop forged process with C-1045 steel, the yoke and top plate exhibit exceptional strength. The swivel section features a precision-machined 4-inch single ball bearing and a load/thrust raceway in a kingpinless style, where the 3/4 inch diameter load/thrust ball bearings are positioned in shear load, effectively locking the swivel section. Additionally, a mechanical shield safeguards the swivel section from contamination, ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments. 81 Series Kingpinless Casters offer a winning combination of strength, simplicity, and longevity, making them an ideal choice for industrial applications.
Paired with ductile iron wheels, they feature many of the same characteristics of cast iron however, ductile iron has higher tensile and yield strengths. Its greater strength and flexibility — and less brittle-like cast iron tendency — help ductile iron become a better alternative in shocking applications. Featuring our precision tapered bearings, the wheels are capable of absorbing excessive side thrust loading and can be used where high speed operation is essential, all with a load rating of 6500 lbs.
