The Many Options of Polyurethane Caster Wheels

Polyurethane caster wheels are in a league of their own; one of the best caster options available. Their quality and lifetime will easily return any initial cost, and are a great fit for industrial use. One of the biggest benefits of polyurethane casters is the weight capacity; double the capacity of rubber casters.

A wide variety of options is something we at Caster Concepts are proud to offer. From the Custom Caster Configurator, to the many caster and wheel combinations, to our overall make-to-order mindset, there is no shortage of possibilities. This is the case when it comes to our series of polyurethane materials. We manufacture top-of-the line polyurethane wheels. Casters can be extremely versatile and are pertinent to the industrial setting. For the best fit, read the wheel and bearing descriptions below, and assure your final product is tested before use.

Wheel Selection

  1. Standard Polyurethane: Durometer 95A TDI. Standard Polyurethane is non-marking and provides long life cycle at an economical price point. Performance is proven in many application
  2. H.D. Hard Polyurethane: Durometer 70D TDI. Heavy-duty polyurethane is non-marking and provides long life in the toughest of applications. Designed to carry the heaviest of loads
  3. H.D. T/R Polyurethane: Durometer 85A MDI. Heavy-duty, tear resistant wheels that offer maximum elasticity. Very little pick up of foreign material while providing great carrying capacity at a softer durometer.
  4. Hard Polyurethane: Durometer 70D TDI. Resistant to wear, non-marking with long life in tough applications of heavy loads.
  5. HPPT Polyurethane: Durometer 92A TODI. High performance premium polyurethane tread is non-marking with long lifespan in continuous use applications. The unique properties compete with any polyurethane on the market.
  6. T/R 95 Polyurethane: Durometer 95A MDI. High strength, tear resistant wheels that offer maximum elasticity for extended wear in difficult application. Erogonomical superior while providing great lifecycle
  7. T/R Polyurethane: Durometer 85A MDI. Tear resistance wheels, non-marking with long life. Known for not picking up debris and for endurance in rugged applications.

Note: Polyurethane components TDI (toluene diisocyanate), MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) and TODI (dimethylbiphenyl diisocyanate) are noted for their flexibility (TDI), rigidity (MDI), and thermal properties (TODI). All types of poly wheels are available in thick (1”) or thin (.5”) treads.

Bearing Types

Sealed Precision
Precision ball bearings offer the lowest rolling resistance for ergonomic applications. These bearings are capable of towing up to 5 mph.

Roller Bearing
These commercial bearings are used when a low cost anti-friction bearing is required, they provide excellent load carrying capacity, at an economical cost.

Precision Tapered
Precision tapered bearings are ideal for heavy duty and power-towed caster applications because their tapered faces will handle any combination of downward and side forces.

Oilite
Oilite bearings offer a low cost friction bearing for applications where heat, moisture, infrequent movement or lighter loads are part of the application.
