What starts as a spark of curiosity can turn into a lifelong passion and for Tyler Bretes, that spark was ignited by FIRST Robotics in high school. What he didn’t expect was how it would set him on a path to engineering success at Caster Concepts and Conceptual Innovations, a Caster Concepts Company.
Tyler’s journey began with late-night design sessions and hands-on experience in manufacturing, where he quickly found himself immersed in problem-solving and innovation. His first big break? An unexpected job interview that led to an internship at Conceptual Innovations. From there, he played a key role in developing HaloDrive, an omnidirectional drive system that earned him his first patent and helped revolutionize material handling.
Now a Research & Development Engineer, Tyler isn’t just designing the future he’s also mentoring the next generation of engineers, leading the same internship program that shaped his career. His story is proof that real-world experience, mentorship, and passion can lead to incredible opportunities in manufacturing.
