Industries that Rely on Ergonomic Caster Wheels to Get the Job Done

The workplace injury is one of the biggest expenses any employer in any industry can face. The good news is that there is much to be done to reduce risk, and one of the best steps you can take involves installing ergonomic caster wheels. These are designed to make loads easier to move and therefore safer, and many industries across the globe have found that ergonomic caster wheels are the way to go.

Automotive

The automotive industry moves some of the largest and heaviest loads in the world, which means ergonomics is incredibly important. Without the right casters for the job, individuals moving carts laden with parts destined for the assembly lines may experience muscle strains, injuries, and even hearing loss. The automotive industry is one of the world’s biggest buyers of ergonomic caster wheels, and for good reason.

Aerospace

There’s no doubt that the casters used in the aerospace industry are some of the toughest and most heavy-duty in the world. After all, in some cases, they move passenger planes from one location to the next. Ergonomics is vital in these situations, whether that means providing drive casters that reduce the operators’ need to exert force or offering innovative braking technology that locks the casters firmly and safely in place when the load is no longer in motion.

Distributors

Distributors don’t have loads quite as heavy as those in the automotive and aerospace industries, but they do move loads frequently. After all, their goal is to ensure that different goods find their way to trucks and trains where they can be distributed among retailers and the like. Because employees in the distribution industry move so many loads throughout the day, ergonomic casters are vital. These make it less risky for employees to move loads from one location to the next many, many times throughout the day.

Manufacturing

The manufacturing industry is huge, and it encompasses everything from making pillows to making huge parts for space shuttles. All the parts and equipment needed to manufacture items must be moved somehow, and often, it’s carts and racks on casters that fill this important role. Again, operators are responsible for moving these loads from one location to the next, and it’s always ideal that they can do so safely. Ergonomic casters, in this case, might vary; some may be designed primarily to absorb shock while others may be designed to manage multiple tons of weight without collapsing.

Train and Locomotive

Last, but most certainly not least, even the train and locomotive industry relies on ergonomic casters to get the job done. It’s not just the trains themselves that move along the tracks, but also the equipment needed to keep the tracks in good repair, inspect the tracks, and even repair trains that might break down on the tracks at some point. These casters need to be ergonomic in such a way that they move smoothly without jarring; otherwise, those responsible for riding or moving with the equipment could face injury.

Every single industry in the world relies on ergonomic caster wheels at some point or another. These casters are designed with employee friendliness in mind, and while some may be a bit more of an initial investment, the amount of money they can save over time by reducing injuries is unlimited.
