Swivel On Swivel (SoS) Casters

Swivel on Swivel casters feature a dual swivel section that reduces the force needed to push and turn when the wheels are not parallel.

Our Swivel on Swivel (SoS) casters are designed so the 2nd swivel section transfers energy to the 1st swivel section. This aids in rotation and reduces the amount of shifting that occurs. This is extremely beneficial when maneuvering a cart, especially in tight areas. Because these Swivel on Swivel casters reduce the force needed to turn, operator fatigue and injuries are minimized.

Overview

The dual swivel section on our Swivel On Swivel (SoS) casters features precision ball bearings sealed in the swivel section and the wheels.  The dual swivel action reduces the castering effect, making it possible for a cart to go forwards and back in a straight line.  This improves maneuverability in tight spaces and helps reduce ergonomic push/pull forces.

Our 112 Swivel On Swivel Caster features 1,500 lbs. Max Capacity per wheel. For added capacity, our 134 Swivel on Swivel can handle 2,500 max per wheel while our 154 Swivel on Swivel can handle 3,500 lbs max per wheel.

All three SoS casters benefit from the same maintenance-free operation and dual swivel action. Choosing which caster you need depends on your total weight capacity.

Application

Excellent for production racks and fixtures, parts bins, conveyor systems, and other applications where maintenance free casters and ergonomics are concerns. Also works well for carts and Automated Guided Vehicles that need to maneuver in tight spaces.

Options

Caster Concepts has a wide variety of caster options. Many of these not only improve function – but also provide safety and add longevity to the product. When considering safety options, the most common consideration would be caster locks, caster brakes, toe guards, and reinforced legs. Options that extend the life of a caster are primarily options that seal the bearing of the caster to prevent contamination of the precision parts.

Other options include threaded zerks for when an application is difficult and high level of maintenance is required and rack brush wipers that keep debris from stopping movement or damaging a wheel. These options can be added at the time of manufacturing or after the caster is fully assembled.
