Case Study: Timely Manufacturing for Conveyor Power Drive Rollers
We Build Trust
An automobile assembly plant needed to replace the power drive rollers on a conveyor in a timely manner, but the parts were being manufactured in Italy which meant lengthy lead times and slow, costly ocean freight. These drive rollers conveyed the automobiles through the weld and final assembly processes, so a solution needed to be found, otherwise production would not begin on time after a planned shutdown.
The client contacted Caster Concepts as they had worked with them before on conveyor systems in another automobile assembly plant.
Caster Concepts was able to manufacture the rollers within 3 weeks to meet customer expectations. The Caster Concepts engineering and manufacturing teams pulled together to design and manufacture the rollers on time so that they could be installed during an annual plant shutdown, lessening the impact of the changeover.
