We have always stressed the importance of giving back to the community. From its founder Richard H. Dobbins to its current President William H. Dobbins, CCI has always risen to the occasion to give back.
This December, we took on the challenge from Bill to make this holiday one for the ages. Bill challenged the employees to raise more donations this season to help support the Albion Interfaith Ministries than in years past. After what was turning out to be a mediocre and a repeat donation from the group, several employees stepped up and donated multiple boxes worth of canned goods and toiletries.
Come December 13, when it was time for the delivery, CCI wound up donating a plethora of items for Christmas dinner, as well as other miscellaneous food items, and toiletries. Along with the donations made by CCI’s employees, Bill also made a monetary donation to the Ministry as well.
For Accounts Receivable and Shipping Manager Stephanie Siefert, the holidays allow her a time to give back to the community, too. Aside from her annual Black Friday shopping excursion, Siefert donates non-perishables to A.I.M. each year, as well as several toys to the Toys for Tots program.
“This is a great way for me to give back, and it makes my heart feel good to be able to do it. It is the small things that can make a big difference,” Siefert said.
In addition to CCI’s contribution to the Albion community through the food drive, Bill will continue his yearly tradition of handing out hams to all CCI employees. At the end of the month, Bill will send out a list of organizations that CCI made a donation to, and the person/persons that suggested it.
