We Build Trust by hiring, developing and retaining the best employees
Like any other relationship, a successful business relationship requires trust to flourish. At Caster Concepts one of the ways We Build Trust is by hiring and retaining the best employees who embrace our core values of trust and integrity.
We recognize that our employees form the bedrock of the Caster Concepts family of companies. Through excellent customer service and product knowledge, our employees are the primary messengers of our core values.
I believe that consistently hiring great people propels Caster Concepts ahead of competitors. As our ambassadors, our employees have earned the trust of customers and business partners, thus giving them every reason to return.
Hiring is both art and science. In “Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap … And Others Don’t,” Jim Collins writes: “…companies start by getting the right people on the bus, the wrong people off the bus, and the right people in the right seats.”
In my experience, hiring the best people to fill seats isn’t always possible. So, the challenge becomes hiring people who can become the best. For this reason, I believe that an excellent hiring decision is merely the first step in building the best workforce.
At Caster Concepts, we’ve developed a hiring formula based on potential, training, and core values.
Potential: We identify and hire people with great potential. Our employees have experience and education that is morally and culturally aligned with our core values. All new employees at Caster Concepts already understand the value of honesty, integrity, and hard work.
Training: We thoroughly train our employees. They’re armed with the most comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge and skills necessary to reach the highest levels of excellence. This holds true for everyone hired, whether they work on the floor or in the office.
Core values: We take the time to integrate each employee into the Caster Concepts culture. Our culture encourages new processes and revolutionary thinking, which in turn drives continual employee improvement. Our employees understand, “how we do it at Caster Concepts.”
Our engineering department is our best example of hiring, training, and weaving key people into our business. Our engineers have more combined years of education than those of any of our competitors. But, we didn’t hire our engineers because they were already caster experts. We hired them because they possessed great educations, excellent attitudes and the desire to lead. We then trained them in every aspect of heavy-duty industrial casters.
At Caster Concepts we employ intelligent, educated and loyal people who work hard to learn. They embrace our company culture. Because we are a job shop and our employees don’t do the same job repeatedly, they easily adapt to each customer’s needs.
Every business owner knows that hiring requires much time and requires difficult choices. At Caster Concepts, we recognize that there are no shortcuts to hiring and developing great employees, and in doing so, We Build Trust.
