TWERGO® Casters – The Ultimate Ergonomic Caster Wheel.

Heavyweight Movement with Lightweight Effort: TWERGO® Casters Reduce Push Force by Over 55%.

When used on manual carts, TWERGO casters have been tested and validated to reduce push forces by over 55% compared to traditional casters. This means you can lower push force to let more people push a cart safely or increase your cartload without increasing push force. And with less resistance when moving and less scrubbing when turning even powered carts benefit by realizing less battery draw down for extended life.

TWERGO ergonomic casters are essential to modern facilities and are designed to enhance mobility, productivity, and safety. These specialized wheels, often found in material handling and other equipment, prioritize user well-being and maximize efficiency. These casters can be equipped with features like swivel locks and brakes, providing added control and stability when needed.

One of the primary benefits of TWERGO casters is their ability to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries. By allowing less friction and scrubbing, they minimize the force required to move a cart and reduce the risk of operator fatigue. This is also beneficial for motorized vehicles. Because less force is required to move and turn, this reduces the stress on a drive system and increases battery life.

Overview

TWERGO® is Caster Concepts’ patented, ergonomic caster wheel featuring a multiple wheel-in-one design. The tapered wheels spin independently and can rotate in either direction at any rate. This unique design’s advantages include minimized friction, reduced initial and continuous push force, and the force exerted to turn.

TWERGO has earned the industry’s first Ergonaut ergonomic approval, validating the 55% push force reduction. To earn certification by Ergonauts, a product must be tested, and the results confirmed by two senior professional ergonomists.

These benefits are also realized in reducing overexertion injuries caused by operators pushing carts that are too heavy. Operators can maintain a push force below 40 lbs. while moving more than 2,000 lbs.

TWERGO Wheels also feature maintenance-free precision bearings with an aluminum die-cast core to prevent rust and corrosion while providing maximum strength.

Whatever the application, TWERGO has the solution. These caster wheels are also available in heavy duty situations with TWEGO® XCEL and lighter-duty applications with TWERGO Lite. Whichever TWERGO wheel you choose, you’re assured of a cost-effective and efficient solution to your material handling needs.

TWERGO® Lite is the single 2-inch-wide wheel version of our extraordinary TWERGO caster. It utilizes the same patented face design to reduce initial and continuous push force. It is designed to replace standard caster wheels by adding significant ergonomic benefits without significantly increasing the price.

TWERGO® is the original ergonomic caster wheel. It can handle heavy loads and reduce the amount of energy needed to move them, making TWERGO ideal for heavier manual and powered applications.

TWERGO® XTREME offers the same great TWERGO benefits but in a barbell configuration. This design distributes heavy loads over the dual sets of wheels to handle higher weight capacities.

Application

Reduces Push Force by Over 55% to Keep Towlines, Tuggers (and everything else) On Course.
TWERGO® caster wheels are ideal for a variety of applications and handle load capacities up to 3500 lbs. per wheel.  Long tugger trains, material handling carts, cargo carts, and ground support equipment all benefit by utilizing a TWERGO wheel. For manual carts, the load capacity can be increased without additional push force, and loads with higher push force ratings can be reduced to help prevent operator injury. Carts that are pulled by a tugger realize less friction and scrubbing, which helps ensure a longer life for battery-operated vehicles. For lighter loads, TWERGO Lite is a popular replacement for a standard 2” wide caster. When compared to a balloon/round tread wheel, TWERGO Lite has a higher weight and greater durability.

Options

Caster Concepts has a wide variety of caster options. Many of these not only improve function – but also provide safety and add longevity to the product. When considering safety options, the most common consideration would be caster locks, caster brakes, toe guards, and reinforced legs. Options that extend the life of a caster are primarily options that seal the bearing of the caster to prevent contamination of the precision parts.

Other options include threaded zerks for when an application is difficult and high level of maintenance is required and rack brush wipers that keep debris from stopping movement or damaging a wheel. These options can be added at the time of manufacturing or after the caster is fully assembled.

FAQs

A:

Yes, TWERGO® is designed for performance and can handle higher speed applications like AGVs and Tuggers. By reducing the force exerted to start and turn automated vehicles, TWERGO® can actually help improve performance and battery life as well. As always, performance is dependent upon several factors — so please contact our sales team to help determine the best configuration for your application.

A:

The 3-in-1 configuration is for heavier loads and allows for height advantages in applications that require it. For example, a 3-in-1 configuration with 6-inch-diameter wheels has a maximum capacity of 2,460 pounds per caster, and a 2-in-1 configuration with 10-inch-diameter wheels has a maximum capacity of 2,500 pounds per caster. While they achieve similar weight capacities, the 3-in-1 configuration is four inches shorter.

A:

TWERGO® reduces by an average of 25 percent the amount of force a user must exert to start, stop and turn a cart. This also means that a user can move a cart loaded with 25 percent more items without increasing force exerted. Here’s an example: If a cart using conventional heavy-duty casters requires 40 pounds of initial push for to start moving a load weighing 2,500 pounds, TWERGO®, on average, would require only 30 pounds of initial push force. Adding 25 percent more weight to the cart would create a total load weight of 3,125 pounds, but would still only require 40 pounds of initial push force.

A:

Because TWERGO® reduces the initial push force required to start a cart rolling, as well as the force required to turn a cart, it reduces the risk of overexertion and musculoskeletal injuries like sprains, strains and tears.

A:

TWERGO® industrial casters are built to last, and engineered to achieve its benefits mechanically. TWERGO® is fabricated with precision sealed ball bearing units that require no maintenance. And, while other industrial casters rely on shape or tread material to achieve ergonomic benefits (a benefit that declines as the tread material degrades or deforms), TWERGO® is designed to perform consistently, and continuously achieve lower force exertion.

A:

TWERGO® heavy-duty casters integrate multiple wheels into the standard footprint normally occupied by one wheel. TWERGO®’s patented parabolic wheel face with tapered tread design — coupled with a 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 wheel configuration — promotes increased ergonomics and ease in starting and maneuvering carts. Also, TWERGO® utilizes multiple wheels in that are side by side with no center support bar. This design reduces surface contact and allows the wheels to rotate in the direction and amount that will minimize friction, resulting in less force exerted.

A:

TWERGO® is Caster Concepts’ patented, lower-exertion, greater-productivity industrial caster. TWERGO® is designed to help manufacturers achieve the maximum ergonomic benefits from its heavy-duty caster wheels. Its unique design reduces the initial push force to start a cart moving by an average of 25 percent . It also reduces the force needed to turn and maneuver a cart.
