(Albion, Michigan) Caster Concepts, Inc., an industrial caster and wheel manufacturer, has been chosen as Small Business Government Contractor of the Year by the Jackson County Enterprise Group’s, Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC). The award was presented during a special ceremony to the Caster Concepts team on August 27, 2010 by U.S. Representative Mark Schauer.

During his presentation, Schauer commented on the tremendous leadership provided by the combined groups and the teamwork exhibited by Caster Concepts to bring federal dollars to the mid-Michigan area. Special note was made of the great efforts made by Penny Southwell, Program Director for PTAC and Jewell Flora, coordinator of government sales for Caster Concepts.

Dr. William Dobbins, president of Caster Concepts, thanked PTAC and Schaurer for this recognition. “Caster Concepts is fortunate to have people like Jewell Flora working to better our business,” Dobbins said. “Without a great team, we would not be able to meet the goals that I have set for
this business.”

During a tour of the facility, both Schauer and Scott Fleming, CEO of the Enterprise Group, commented on the cleanliness of the plant and the investment in modern manufacturing that
has been made by the company. “Caster Concepts is clearly serious about the success of U.S. manufacturing and future growth of their business,” Schaurer said.
