Caster Concepts to Join Jackson Area Manufacturers Association Display

 

ALBION, Mich. (Feb. 15, 2012)- Caster Concepts Inc., an industrial caster and wheel manufacturer, will be one of several area manufacturers to have products displayed at the Ella Sharp Museum of Art and History, in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Jackson Area Manufacturers Association (JAMA). The products will be on available to view from Feb. 14 to April 14.JAMA_Picture

 

William H. Dobbins, president of Caster Concepts stated, "I am very proud of our association with the Jackson Area Manufacturing Association. Bill Rayl and his entire staff work tirelessly to support manufacturing, not only in Jackson but in the entire region. We are honored to be part of this exhibit that celebrates JAMA’s 75 anniversary."

 

The exhibit, titled "The World Takes What Jackson Makes: The History of the Jackson Area Manufacturers Association," will highlight each of the original 13 companies that started the organization. It is aimed to explore Jackson's rich manufacturing traditions and offer a glimpse into what cutting edge companies are doing in the community.

 

CCI will display a wide variety of products at the Ella Sharp Museum of Art and History, ranging from heavy duty casters with a capacity of 1,500 pounds and super heavy duty casters with capacity of up to 35,000 pounds to spring loaded shock absorbing casters and NyTec wheels made out from high performance nylon. The display will also feature a v-groove polyurethane pipe roller, a 2-inch polyurethane wheel, and a polyurethane roller from its conveyor parts catalog.

 

The Ella Sharp Museum of Art and History is open to the public, Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with hours extended to 7 p.m. on Thursday. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 5-12, and those under five years are free. The exhibit will be located in the Hurst Gallery.

Collaboration Leads to Best Paper Award Reaction Industries and Anderson Development Company

(Albion, MI) October 23, 2009 --- A technical paper written by members of Anderson Development Company and Reaction Industries LLC, a division of Caster Concepts,  Inc., won the Best Paper Award in the Fundamentals of Elastomers session at the recent Polyurethanes Conference held in Washington D.C. The conference is sponsored by the Center for the Polyurethane Industry (CPI) and is the largest annual polyurethane conference in North America. The paper entitled “Determining the Stoichiometry of MDI-Based Elastomers using Compression Set and Its Relation to Dynamic Performance” details a method to ensure that MDI polyurethanes are processed to achieve optimal performance.
