For Immediate ReleaseFord Motor Company Standardizes to CasterShoX(Albion, Michigan) – June 26, 2009 - Ford Motor Company announced on June 22, 2009 that it has chosen the CasterShoX product line as the specified caster for line delivery carts in the revised Ford Cuautitlan Assembly Plant, located near Mexico City in Mexico. The Ford Fiesta is slated to be built in this facility. This is seen as further evidence of Ford’s commitment to worker safety and improving the work environment.The CasterShoX product line is a proprietary product manufactured by Caster Concepts, Inc in Albion, MI. Caster Concepts, Inc is a premiere manufacture of heavy duty industrial caster and wheels. The CasterShoX product line was developed by Dr. Elmer Lee who has an extensive background in developing shock absorption and sound deadening products for the manufacturing environments. Dr Lee stated "the version of CasterShoX purchased for the new Ford facility will reduce cart noise in the manufacturing facility by 15-18 dBA (approx 95% of the noise). While most auto manufacturers are cutting costs just to stay alive—Ford is truly committed to providing their employees the very best work environment to produce world class products" Dr. Lee went on to explain "the CasterShoX product line will also improve ergonomic push pull tests on the manually handled line delivery carts by 20%. This reduction will directly impact muscular stresses and strains in the work force." Dr Lee concluded by saying that "the partnership that has developed between CasterShoX, LLC, Caster Concepts, Inc and the Ford Motor Company, which started in the Auto Alliance plant in Flat Rock, Michigan, has now migrated to Mexico and we expect will penetrate all Ford manufacturing facilities across the globe.
